Válvula de retención
La válvula de retención también es llamada como válvula unidireccional o válvula de retención, es un tipo de válvula donde los componentes de apertura y de cierre abren o cierren automáticamente aprovechando el flujo y la fuerza de los medios, y prevenir el contraflujo de los medios. La válvula de retención corresponde a la clase de válvula automática, apta principalmente para la tubería de flujo unidireccional, solamente permite el flujo hacia una sola dirección, tendiente a prevenir  la ocurrencia de accidentes. BTL fabrica principalmente cuatro clases de válvula de retención: válvula de retención a clapeta, válvula de retención horizontal, válvula de retención de disco oblicuo y válvula de retención de tipo Wafer.

The butterfly plate of API 594 double-clack check valve is two semicircular. The check valve uses spring-loaded valve clack which hanged on the center vertical pin shaft.
